So... What's my story?

So... What's my story?

"A burnout forced me to pause. I spent over a year on the couch, physically and emotionally drained. (...) On the day I stepped in the office again to start my reintegration program a very clear question popped up in my mind: If everything is possible, is this the life I want?"

More than ten years ago, I began my career at the iconic Dutch television program Man bijt Hond. Looking back, it truly was my dream job as I am - since I was a little girl - so curious about the world around me. My role as a  a researcher was to connect with authentic people, understand their lives and motivations, unravel their stories, and share them with our audience. It taught me the beauty and power of storytelling in its most honest form.

After several years in the television world, I felt a desire to do something more meaningful. That led me to a new path as an Impact PR Advisor at Blyde (a certified B Corp), a sustainable PR agency in Amsterdam. There, I helped purpose-driven brands craft their narratives and connect with the public, the media and journalists in a way that resonated with their values and story.

But after four intense years of hard work, I hit a wall. A burn-out forced me to pause and I spent over a year on the couch, physically and emotionally drained. During that time, I made a promise to myself: to figure out what truly makes me happy and what a fulfilling, balanced happy life looks like.

On the day I stepped in the office again to start my reintegration program a very clear question popped up in my mind: If everything is possible, is this the life I want? Every part of my body  said no. So, I listened and I quit my job the week after. What followed was the beginning of writing my own alchemist journey. I gave up my apartment, packed my oldtimer campervan, and drove without a plan or goal to the south of Portugal.

Wonder With Me Program

"Join me on a journey where we'll find, shape, and tell your authetic Story."

I just wanted to find out what would happen. I learned something powerful along the way: wisdom isn’t just found in books or podcasts. It’s in conversations with everyday people you connect with. So I began asking the people I met on my travels  one simple question: What is your biggest life lesson? What happened next was always magical.

This experience sparked a deep obsession with the power of asking good questions and real vulnerable stories. I became fascinated by how leaders use stories to inspire, how brandstory’s get us hooked, and how the stories we tell ourselves shape our lives.

Somewhere along this journey, something unexpected happened: I started getting messages (from people I didn’t even know very well) asking me if I could help them find the right words for their stories. One text said:  “Hey, I’ve been struggling so much to express who I am, what I do, and what I have to offer in a clear and concrete way.  Another person shared:  "Right now, my answer to 'what do you do?' is still really vague and what I say in person doesn't match what’s on my website. Can you help me?" I sent them some questions and sat down with them for more than 2 hours. What happened was magical and their reaction touched me deeply: “I feel so much inspiration and excitement, this session was gold.”

That’s when I realized: the thing I’ve been doing all along, helping people find the heart of their story and express it in a way that feels true, is not just my passion, it’s my calling.

Stories can make us laugh, cry, reflect, connect, and dream. They help us see the world through different eyes, ignite imagination, and foster a sense of belonging. Above all, stories help us make sense of life and I’m incredibly grateful that finding, shaping, and sharing them has become my greatest passion. And the funny thing is: for the past three years, I’ve been trying to write my own story, trying to figure out my profession, struggling to name it, to put it in a box. Until I remembered what I wrote on my CV at 21: “I’m passionate about finding and telling stories in an engaging and energetic way.”

Turns out, I knew it all along. And I believe the same might be true for you. I found my story  and now, I’m here to help you find yours.
